I work with beginning and advanced writers to forge their way through drafts, to fully explore the terrain of their stories, and to most effectively develop, shape, and refine their work, priming it for publication.

With twenty years’ experience teaching in undergraduate and graduate writing programs and independently, and over a decade’s experience as Fiction Editor for Forklift, Ohio, I can help you get your story onto the page and I can make sure you finish it.

Workshops

I run small weekly workshops on zoom offering feedback on existing short stories, essays, and chapters and guiding writers through a generative process to draft new works. If you’re interested in generating, developing, and/or revising a body of work while becoming part of a community, this might be a good option for you.

One-on-One

I work with writers one-on-one, offering feedback, coaching, and developmental editing on existing manuscripts and coaching writers through the drafting and completion of new works. Short-term and ongoing consultations are designed to meet the needs of each writer and to best serve the particular project at hand.

Ghostwriting and Brand Content

Mentoring so many writers has made me extremely dexterous in recognizing what’s at the heart of someone else’s story—and equipped me to take care of writing it.

Skilled at developing voice and exercising tonal control and bringing scenes to life, I’ve got a knack for stepping into stories to fully develop and write the memoirs, novels, non-fiction projects, treatments, and book proposals that you’ve imagined but, for a variety of reasons, have yet to draft or complete on your own.
